Job Description: We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Part-Time PMLD Teacher to join our team. The hours will be Monday – Thursday 12.30/1 – 4.30. You will be working with students who have profound and multiple learning disabilities, focusing on sensory-based learning and individualised education plans. This role requires a dedicated professional who is enthusiastic about supporting the complex needs of our students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and sensory-based lessons tailored to the individual needs of students with PMLD.
- Create a supportive and nurturing classroom environment that promotes learning and development.
- Implement and monitor individualised education plans (IEPs) in line with each student’s needs and abilities.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and support staff to provide comprehensive support for each student.
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and other professionals involved in the students’ care.
- Assess and track student progress, providing regular feedback to parents and the school leadership team.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Proven experience working with children with PMLD and sensory needs.
- Strong understanding of sensory-based learning techniques and individualised education plans.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for teaching and supporting children with profound and multiple learning disabilities.
