We are currently recruiting for an experienced SEND Teacher to join a fantastic SEND school on a full-time interim basis for a minimum of one term. This is an exciting opportunity to support learners following an Informal Pathway, helping them achieve their individual educational, social and emotional goals within a nurturing and inclusive environment.
The Role
You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, personalised lessons for learners with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD). Working closely with Teaching Assistants, therapists and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will adapt learning to meet each learner’s individual needs and celebrate every achievement, no matter how small.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or PGCE.
- Previous experience teaching within a SEND school or specialist provision.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Autism (ASD) and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD).
- Experience planning and delivering personalised, differentiated learning programmes.
- A calm, patient and nurturing approach with excellent behaviour management skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships with learners, families and colleagues.
- A commitment to promoting inclusion, independence and learner wellbeing.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
