  • Work closely alongside the Teacher to support educational activities, sensory engagement and development.
  • Assist with personal care needs, ensuring dignity, comfort and wellbeing at all times.
  • Support communication and interaction, including the use of eye gaze technology and alternative communication methods.
  • Encourage engagement through sensory activities, play and personalised learning opportunities.
  • Maintain a safe, positive and nurturing environment within the home.
  • Follow individual care plans, safeguarding procedures and medical protocols.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience supporting individuals with PMLD is highly desirable.
  • Experience using eye gaze technology or other AAC communication aids would be advantageous.

  • A positive, enthusiastic and proactive attitude.
  • Patient, nurturing and able to build trusting relationships.
  • Able to work collaboratively with an experienced Teacher.
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs.

Why Apply?

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful difference to a young person’s daily life, working within a supportive and consistent environment alongside a Teacher who has an established relationship with the learner.

We are looking for someone who will bring energy, kindness, patience and enthusiasm to every session, celebrating the small achievements that make a big difference.

If you are passionate about SEND and have experience supporting individuals with complex needs, we would love to hear from you!
