We’re recruiting an experienced Registered Manager to lead a new solo-placement children’s home in Paignton, Torbay, supporting one young person with complex needs.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take a home through Ofsted registration from the outset, build your own team and establish a strong, trauma-informed and relationship-led care environment.

The role:

• Lead the home through Ofsted registration
• Take responsibility as the Registered Manager
• Recruit, lead and develop the staff team
• Oversee the care, safety and development of one young person
• Establish care planning, risk assessment and quality assurance systems
• Work closely with social workers, commissioners, education and health professionals
• Manage the day-to-day running, rota and budget
• Prepare for and lead Ofsted inspection

We’re looking for:

• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent/in progress)
• Previous experience as a Registered Manager, Deputy Manager or in a senior children’s residential care role
• Strong knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations and Ofsted

Requirements:

• Excellent safeguarding and leadership skills
• Experience managing and developing staff teams
• Full UK driving licence
• Eligibility to register with Ofsted as a Registered Manager

Desirable: Experience taking a home through Ofsted registration, or working with solo placements / young people with complex needs.
