We are looking for a passionate Functional Skills Tutor to deliver engaging Maths and English sessions while supporting young people to overcome barriers and achieve meaningful outcomes.

In this role, you will be more than a teacher you will act as a mentor and role model, helping learners develop the skills, confidence, and resilience needed for further education, employment, and independence.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver High-Quality Teaching
• Deliver Functional Skills Maths and English (Entry Level 1 to Level 2)
• Plan engaging and inclusive lessons tailored to individual needs, including SEND
• Create a supportive learning environment that motivates and engages learners
• Support learners through assessments and exams
• Maintain high teaching standards in line with Ofsted expectations
• Occasionally support learners with transport where required

Support Progress and Achievement

• Monitor and track learner progress, engagement, and attainment
• Use data to identify gaps and deliver targeted interventions
• Maintain accurate records, attendance, and assessment data
• Support learner transitions, referrals, and programme outcomes
• Contribute to the development of curriculum and learning materials

Work as Part of a Team

• Work closely with colleagues to support learner success
• Contribute to inclusive and differentiated teaching approaches
• Participate in CPD, team meetings, and performance reviews
• Promote a positive, collaborative, and supportive working culture
