Job description:
We are seeking an exceptional and driven Regional Head to lead and inspire provision across a multi-site region.
This is a unique opportunity for a passionate leader to shape the future of alternative education, champion young people, and empower teams to deliver life-changing outcomes.
As Regional Head, you will provide strategic leadership, operational oversight, and clear direction to ensure consistently high-quality support for young people, particularly those with additional needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership and Vision
- Provide strong, values-led leadership across multiple sites
- Develop and communicate a clear, ambitious vision for each centre
- Lead on strategy, translating priorities into effective delivery
- Chair leadership and governance meetings
- Line manage senior staff and drive high performance
Developing People and Practice
- Inspire and empower staff and young people to achieve their potential
- Build a culture of trust, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Lead challenging conversations and decision-making with confidence
- Support staff wellbeing, development, and professional growth
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with external stakeholders
- Promote inclusive practice and high expectations for all
Accountability and Quality Assurance
- Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)
- Oversee Health and Safety across all sites
- Ensure high-quality SEND, education, and youth provision
- Monitor performance, analyse data, and drive continuous improvement
- Lead audits and ensure compliance with statutory requirements
- Report on performance and outcomes to stakeholders
- Develop and implement policies, ensuring effective impact

This role may include other duties appropriate to the level of responsibility. Priorities will be reviewed through performance management processes.

Person Specification
Essential Qualifications
- GCSE Grade 4 (C) or above in English and Maths
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Degree or equivalent qualification
- Relevant leadership qualifications in education, SEND, youth work, or related fields
- NASENCO (or willingness to achieve)
- IOSH qualification (or willingness to achieve)
- Level 2 and Level 3 Safeguarding (DSL) training
Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior leadership role
- Experience leading teams within education, SEND, or community provision
- Experience working with external partners and agencies
- Experience leading staff development and improvement
- Strong experience in safeguarding and health & safety practice
- Experience implementing policies, systems, and procedures
- Experience analysing data to inform decision-making and improvement
