About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and qualified SENDCo to join a mainstream secondary school on a full-time, temporary basis starting as soon as possible until the end of the academic year. This is a key leadership role, responsible for ensuring high-quality provision for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the SEND provision across the school
- Oversee and implement EHCPs, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements
- Work collaboratively with SLT, teaching staff, parents, and external agencies
- Monitor and track progress of SEND students, ensuring appropriate interventions are in place
- Support and guide staff in delivering inclusive, high-quality teaching
- Ensure the school meets all SEND-related legal and regulatory requirements
Requirements:
- Must hold the National Award for SEN Coordination (or equivalent SENDCo qualification)
- Proven experience working as a SENDCo in a secondary school setting
- Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and best practice
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Ability to start immediately and commit until the end of the academic year
