Job description:

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and qualified SENDCo to join a mainstream secondary school on a full-time, temporary basis starting as soon as possible until the end of the academic year. This is a key leadership role, responsible for ensuring high-quality provision for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the SEND provision across the school
  • Oversee and implement EHCPs, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements
  • Work collaboratively with SLT, teaching staff, parents, and external agencies
  • Monitor and track progress of SEND students, ensuring appropriate interventions are in place
  • Support and guide staff in delivering inclusive, high-quality teaching
  • Ensure the school meets all SEND-related legal and regulatory requirements

Requirements:

  • Must hold the National Award for SEN Coordination (or equivalent SENDCo qualification)
  • Proven experience working as a SENDCo in a secondary school setting
  • Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and best practice
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Ability to start immediately and commit until the end of the academic year
