SEND International are currently seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, or a highly skilled SEND TA to work in a local primary school mainly with a students on a 1:1 basis with students with Down syndrome, Autism and a non-verbal student. However we are wanting someone to be adaptable enough to work with other students wherever necessary and guided by the school.
We would like to find someone who has experience working with young people or adults with Autism, speech and language and other SEND, but who is patient, kind and nurturing.
We do want to find someone who can complement the existing ethos of teachers by taking a proactive and positive approach in all that you do to encourage young people in their learning and development whilst they’re in their school environment!
You will be friendly, caring and compassionate and love to work with young people, giving children the best educational guidance.
The role would be to start as soon as possible and for the right candidate, this could very much translate into a permanent role.
Although experience is desirable, if you have a speciality or passion to work with young people with SEND and would like to talk to us about it, we would rather find the right person to join this school so full training can be provided, as long as there is a confidence in support and some group work interventions.
You will also require a DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one.
