Job description:
We are looking for a compassionate, resilient, and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to join our independent provision supporting children and young people with additional needs.
This is a rewarding role for someone who is passionate about helping learners thrive both academically and emotionally within a nurturing and supportive environment.
The Role
You will work closely with teaching staff and other professionals to support students with a range of special educational needs, helping to create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
Essential Experience & Skills
- Experience supporting learners with:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- Confidence supporting pupils with a range of additional needs and behaviours
- Ability to build positive and trusting relationships with learners
- Calm, patient, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Desirable
- Team Teach or other Positive Handling/Physical Intervention training
- Experience within SEND schools, alternative provisions, or independent settings
- Understanding of trauma-informed approaches
