Job description:
We are seeking a caring, patient, and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils within a primary school setting.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about inclusion and committed to helping children with additional needs thrive both academically and emotionally. You will play a key role in supporting pupils with SEND, helping them access learning, build confidence, and develop essential life skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Teaching and Learning
- Work closely with the class teacher to support pupils with SEND
- Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual needs
- Adapt learning activities to ensure all pupils can access the curriculum
- Use a range of strategies to engage and motivate learners
Support Pupil Development
- Help pupils develop social, emotional, and communication skills
- Support behaviour management using positive and consistent approaches
- Encourage independence and confidence in learning
- Assist with personal care where required
Work as Part of a Team
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCo, and external professionals
- Contribute to EHCP targets and support plans
- Monitor and record pupil progress and behaviour
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
Additional Information
This role may include supporting pupils with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH.
