Are you a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? We are currently seeking a motivated SEND Teaching Assistant for a warm and welcoming SEN Primary School for with students who experience SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties)
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEND, assisting in their academic and personal development.
- Work closely with the classroom teacher to implement and adapt lesson plans to meet the individual needs of students.
- Support students in developing their communication and social skills.
- Utilise your experience in working with young people with autism spectrum conditions and associated behaviors, moderate learning difficulties, or specific learning difficulties.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, particularly with young people experiencing SEMH.
- An understanding of various learning needs and the ability to adapt support strategies accordingly.
- Previous support work experience also considered
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach to working with students.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff, other support staff, and parents.
- A commitment to the inclusive and welcoming ethos
