Job Title: SEND Learning Assistant

Location: Cheshire Area

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time (5 days a week)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced SEND Learning Assistant to join our dedicated team at our SEND provision in the Cheshire area. We are seeking an individual with exceptional understanding and expertise in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including those with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), complex needs, challenging behavior, and Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide outstanding support and care to SEND students within our provision.
  • Develop and implement tailored strategies to meet the individual needs of students, promoting their academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment, promoting independence and self-confidence among students.
  • Collaborate effectively with teaching staff, therapists, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
  • Demonstrate consistency of care and support, establishing positive relationships with students and providing a stable and secure environment.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience working with SEND students, preferably within a similar provision.
  • Outstanding understanding of a range of SEND needs, including SEMH, ASD, complex needs, challenging behavior, and PMLD.
  • Ability to adapt teaching and support strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
  • Driving license and access to transportation, as there are no transport links to the provision.
