Specialist SEND Tutoring & Outreach Education
Specialist SEND Tutoring for Young People Outside of School
At The Specialist SEND Group, we provide specialist tutoring and outreach education for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) who are unable to access traditional school settings.
For nearly 10 years, we have worked in partnership with local authorities, SEND teams, inclusion services, and schools to support students who require highly personalised education packages, including EOTAS (Education Otherwise Than At School) provision.
Our Specialist SEND Tutoring (SST) service delivers bespoke educational support for students with complex needs including:
Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
ADHD
Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
Medical needs
School refusal and persistent absence
Students at risk of or recently excluded
Many of the young people we support have experienced long periods out of education, and require a flexible, relationship-focused approach to rebuild engagement and confidence in learning.
A Relationship-First Approach to Re-Engaging Learners
Our model is built around trust, consistency, and personalised learning.
We carefully match each student with a specialist tutor who understands their needs, interests, and learning profile. Through patient relationship building and positive reinforcement, tutors help students:
rebuild confidence in learning
develop emotional regulation and resilience
re-establish routines and structure
re-engage with education at their own pace
Small steps and consistent support can lead to powerful outcomes. Our goal is always to reconnect young people with meaningful education and future pathways..
Proven SST Outcomes
Over the past decade, our specialist tutoring model has successfully supported hundreds of vulnerable learners.
Last year alone:
