Full Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity to be a positive role model and mentor for young people with a range of abilities and needs. As a Community Sport Youth Mentor, you will use sport, particularly football and rugby, as a tool to engage, inspire, and support personal development among learners, many of whom may have disabilities, special educational needs, or experience of trauma.

You’ll deliver inclusive and engaging sports sessions, build trusting relationships with young people, and support their social, emotional, and physical development both on and off the pitch.

Key Responsibilities🌟
Deliver or support inclusive sports sessions focused on football and rugby.
Build meaningful, positive relationships with young people, especially those with SEND or trauma-related needs.
Support participants’ development through mentoring and positive behaviour strategies.
Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive sporting environment.
Work closely with schools, families, and community partners to help young people re-engage with education or personal goals.
Track progress and contribute to individual support plans.
Who We’re Looking For:

We are seeking someone with🌟
A genuine passion for working with young people, especially those with disabilities and complex needs.
An interest in or experience with sport (especially football and/or rugby).
Experience working with SEND and/or young people who have experienced trauma (desired but not essential).
A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach to mentoring.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Desirable (but not essential):

Coaching qualifications (FA Level 1/2, RFU Coaching Badges, etc.)
Qualifications or training in SEND, safeguarding, or youth work.

Pay: £26,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
