We are a supportive and inclusive SEND school that caters for children and young people with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health), communication difficulties, and complex learning needs.

We are seeking a compassionate and proactive SEND Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team. This is a rewarding role where every day is different, and your support will have a lasting impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and group support to pupils with a variety of SEND
  • Help implement individual learning plans, EHCP targets, and therapy strategies
  • Use visual aids, communication tools, and tailored resources to support engagement
  • Foster independence, emotional wellbeing, and positive behaviour
  • Assist the class teacher with classroom activities, preparation, and routines
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND (school, care, youth work or similar)
  • A calm, empathetic, and patient nature
  • Confidence in supporting children with challenging behaviour, sensory needs, or limited communication
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • A willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic school environment
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) are desirable but not essential

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: £91.52-£94.92 per day
