Head of Pastoral Care – International School, Bahrain

We are seeking an exceptional Head of Pastoral Care to join our dynamic international school in Bahrain. This pivotal role requires a compassionate and experienced leader who can support students in their personal, academic, and social development while fostering a positive and inclusive school culture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic leadership and direction for pastoral care across the school.
• Champion student well-being, ensuring every student is supported to be their best self.
• Oversee behaviour management policies, ensuring a positive and nurturing school environment.
• Guide students through key transitional phases, including career guidance and personal development.
• Collaborate with staff, parents, and external agencies to provide holistic support for students.
• Uphold and develop the school’s safeguarding and student welfare policies.
• Lead initiatives that promote mental health, resilience, and emotional well-being.

Essential Requirements:

• A degree in Education, Psychology, Pastoral Care, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• A recognized qualification in Pastoral Care, Counselling, or Leadership (e.g., NPQH, NPQSL, or a similar leadership certification).
• Extensive experience in pastoral care within an international school setting.
• Strong background in student support, behaviour management, and career guidance.
• Experience working with the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum.
• A student-centered approach with a commitment to nurturing young people’s potential.
• Proven leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to inspire and support staff and students.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse cultural backgrounds.
