The Role
We are seeking a proactive and skilled HLTA to join our team. Working closely with teachers and other support staff, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences, ensuring all pupils receive the support they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons or interventions under the guidance of the class teacher.
- Cover whole-class teaching during teacher absences (PPA, sickness, etc.).
- Support individual pupils and small groups, ensuring differentiated approaches to meet their needs.
- Assist with the assessment, recording, and reporting of pupil progress.
- Work collaboratively with teachers to adapt lesson plans, resources, and teaching strategies.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
- Provide support to pupils with additional needs, including SEND and EAL learners.
- Engage with parents/carers to communicate pupil progress and well-being.
Requirements
- HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience supporting teaching and learning in a mainstream setting.
- Strong knowledge of the primary or secondary curriculum (depending on the phase).
- Confidence in delivering lessons and managing a classroom independently.
- Understanding of strategies to support SEND and EAL learners.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, proactive, and flexible approach to working with children.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Pay: £100.00-£160.00 per day
