SSG is recruiting an outstanding Primary Autism Teacher to join a leading specialist setting for autistic learners in Qatar. The school delivers personalised provision supported by a multidisciplinary approach and differentiated pathways to meet a wide range of learner needs.
The role
This is a relocation opportunity for an English-qualified teacher with UK QTS who is passionate about evidence-informed autism practice and achieving meaningful outcomes for children.
You will plan and deliver high-quality teaching and create structured, supportive learning environments that develop communication, regulation, independence and progress.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and teach engaging, differentiated lessons for primary-aged pupils with autism.
- Knowledge of PECS and relevant communication aids
- Create calm, predictable classrooms using autism-informed approaches and positive behaviour support.
- Set targets, track progress and adapt teaching to individual learner needs.
- Work closely with families and multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure consistent support.
- Contribute to safeguarding, wellbeing and continuous improvement across the provision.
Essential criteria
- UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (English-qualified)
- Primary teaching experience (EYFS / KS1 / KS2)
- Strong understanding of autism and inclusive/specialist practice
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Desirable
- Experience in a specialist autism provision or SEND setting
- Training/experience with structured approaches and communication supports (e.g., TEACCH, AAC)
- Experience working alongside therapists and wider multidisciplinary teams
