We are seeking an experienced and innovative Curriculum Developer to lead the design, coordination, and implementation of our whole-school SEND curriculum. This is a unique opportunity to shape an inclusive, progressive curriculum that supports pupils’ academic, social, emotional, and life-skills development.
This role is ideal for someone with deep SEND expertise who is passionate about child-centred education and can drive curriculum excellence across the school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and review of a holistic whole-school curriculum tailored to the diverse needs of SEND learners.
- Collaborate with senior leaders, teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure curriculum pathways are inclusive, coherent, and well-sequenced.
- Design curriculum frameworks, assessment systems, progression routes, and personalised learning pathways.
- Ensure the curriculum is aligned with EHCP outcomes, statutory guidance, and best practice in SEND pedagogy.
- Support staff with curriculum implementation, training, and resource development.
- Evaluate the impact of the curriculum and recommend ongoing improvements.
- Produce high-quality documentation and guidance to support consistency across the school.
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
- Significant experience working in SEND education, ideally in curriculum design or leadership.
- Strong understanding of a wide range of SEND needs and effective pedagogical approaches.
- Expertise in assessment frameworks and curriculum pathways for SEND learners.
- Excellent written communication, organisation, and project management skills.
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
- Creativity, innovation, and a commitment to delivering exceptional learning experiences.
- Teaching qualification or SEND leadership background (desirable but not essential).
