Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to thrive in their learning environment? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND HLTA to join our team at a vibrant primary school in Liverpool.

Role Overview:
As a SEND HLTA, you will play a crucial role in supporting the learning and development of students with SEND within our school community. Working closely with teachers and other support staff, you will assist in planning and delivering lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of SEND students. Your experience and expertise in SEND will be invaluable in ensuring that every child receives the support and encouragement they need to succeed academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teachers to plan and deliver lessons that are inclusive and accessible to students with SEND.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to SEND students, reinforcing learning objectives and assisting with classwork.
  • Adapt teaching materials and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Monitor and assess the progress of SEND students, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to Individual Education Plans (IEPs) where necessary.
  • Foster a supportive and nurturing learning environment where all students feel valued and empowered to reach their full potential.
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies as needed to ensure a coordinated approach to supporting SEND students.

Requirements:

  • HLTA qualification or equivalent experience in a similar role.
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND, preferably within a primary school setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to supporting the diverse needs of SEND students.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Must be able to commute to the Liverpool area or have reliable transportation.
