Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate PSHE Teacher (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) to join our team. The successful candidate will have a passion for supporting the holistic development of students with SEN and will be committed to delivering high-quality PSHE education within an inclusive and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and assess PSHE lessons tailored to the individual needs of students with SEN, focusing on topics such as emotional well-being, relationships, health education, and life skills.
- Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate the diverse learning styles and abilities of students, ensuring accessibility for all learners.
- Collaborate with the in-house therapy team and external professionals to integrate therapeutic approaches into PSHE education, promoting social and emotional development.
- Facilitate discussions and activities that promote self-awareness, positive relationships, and decision-making skills among students.
- Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment where students feel valued, respected, and supported in their personal development.
- Work in partnership with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to provide holistic support for students’ social, emotional, and mental well-being.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching PSHE, preferably within a SEND setting.
- Strong understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and effective teaching strategies for supporting students with diverse needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
- Empathy, patience, and a nurturing approach to supporting students’ social and emotional development.
- Commitment to promoting inclusion, diversity, and equality within the school community.
