Are you passionate about supporting young learners with special educational needs? Do you have experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), challenging behavior, and physical needs? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team!
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to support a KS1 class. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with ASD and challenging behavior, and be ready to provide tailored support to meet their physical and emotional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for children with ASD and other special needs.
- Assist in managing challenging behavior and implementing behavior management strategies.
- Support the physical and personal care needs of pupils, including toileting and feeding, where necessary.
- Collaborate with the class teacher and SENDCo to ensure the learning environment is inclusive and engaging.
- Encourage and support children’s development in a nurturing and safe environment.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children with SEND, particularly those with ASD and challenging behavior.
- Ability to manage and de-escalate challenging situations with empathy and understanding.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable, but not essential.
- Patience, resilience, and a passion for supporting children with special needs.

Pay: £75.00-£80.00 per day
