About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated, patient, and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with special educational needs in our welcoming mainstream primary school. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s school experience, helping them to thrive both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored 1:1 support to a pupil with SEND, in line with their individual education plan (IEP)
- Assist the pupil in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo, and external professionals to implement strategies that support the pupil’s development
- Monitor and record progress, providing feedback to staff and parents/carers where appropriate
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment that encourages independence, confidence, and engagement
- Support the pupil with emotional regulation and positive behaviour management
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience working with children with SEND (especially on a 1:1 basis)
- A calm, adaptable, and compassionate approach to supporting learning and wellbeing
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A good understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential

Pay: £82.14-£85.00 per day
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
Licence/Certification:
- DBS on the Update Service (preferred)
