- Support pupils in the classroom, during therapy sessions, and throughout the school day
- Implement EHCP targets and individual learning plans under the guidance of teaching staff and the SENDCo
- Assist with communication, emotional regulation, and personal care when needed
- Help create a calm, inclusive and engaging environment where learners feel valued and respected
- Use communication tools such as PECs, Makaton, visual schedules, and sensory strategies (training will be provided)
- Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families to promote consistency and trust
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience working in a SEND or specialist provision (desirable but not essential)
- A calm, caring, and patient nature, with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
- An understanding of autism, communication differences, sensory needs, and positive behaviour strategies
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- The ability to remain positive, proactive, and adaptable in a busy and dynamic environment
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Team Teach, Manual Handling) are desirable but training can be provided
What We Offer:
- A welcoming and supportive staff team
- Ongoing CPD, training, and progression opportunities
- A positive and purposeful school culture that puts students at the heart of everything we do
