SEND Tutor

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate SEND Primary Tutor to work with two brothers who are currently not attending school. This role involves delivering highly personalised, 1:1 tuition to support both academic progress and emotional wellbeing in a calm, structured home environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver 18 hours per week of 1:1 tuition (separate sessions for each child)
• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons aligned with the primary curriculum
• Adapt teaching approaches to meet a range of SEND needs
• Provide 2 hours per week PPA for planning, assessment, and progress tracking
• Build positive, trusting relationships with both pupils
• Monitor progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
• Liaise with parents/carers and, where appropriate, other professionals

Essential Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
• Previous experience teaching in UK primary schools
• Proven experience working with children with SEND
• Confident delivering 1:1 tuition outside of a school setting
• Patient, flexible, and nurturing approach
• Strong behaviour management and ability to create a safe learning environment

Desirable

• Experience working with children who are out of school / EOTAS
• Knowledge of trauma-informed or therapeutic approaches
• Familiarity with EHCPs and personalised learning plans
