Position Overview:
We are looking for a dynamic SEND Teaching Assistant to work closely with our students who have special educational needs and disabilities. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the learning and development of students, ensuring that they receive personalized assistance tailored to their specific requirements. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one support to students with SEND, assisting them with their learning and personal development.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to create individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with SEND.
- Implement strategies to support students’ social, emotional, and behavioral needs, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Adapt learning materials and activities to meet the diverse needs of students with SEND, ensuring accessibility and engagement.
- Monitor and assess students’ progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents/guardians as appropriate.
- Promote independence and autonomy among students with SEND, empowering them to achieve their academic and personal goals.
- Establish positive relationships with students, building trust and rapport to enhance learning experiences.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with individuals with special educational needs and disabilities is highly desirable.
- Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or a related field are advantageous.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience when supporting students facing challenges.
