Speech and Language Therapist – Join a Passionate, Child-Centred Team!
Reporting to: Lead Therapist / Senior Leadership
Location: Bahrain. School-based with outreach opportunities
Hours: Full-time
Purpose of the Role:
SEND International is seeking a dedicated Speech and Language Therapist. You will be working within a specialist SEND school, helping children thrive & supporting their communication needs within the school and through outreach work. You’ll work closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and a multidisciplinary team to deliver targeted support and empower every child to access their learning confidently.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Assessing new pupils and writing detailed follow-up reports.
- Identifying children who need SLT support and designing tailored therapy programmes.
- Delivering 1:1 and small group sessions.
- Collaborating with parents, staff, and other professionals.
- Supporting teachers with communication strategies in the classroom.
- Keeping accurate records and contributing to IEPs and school reports.
- Helping to develop social skills and language-based interventions.
- Leading small groups and contributing to school events and training sessions.
- Ordering and managing SLT resources.
What We’re Looking For:
- A qualified Speech and Language Therapist (e.g., MRCSLT, HCPC registration).
- Experience working with primary-aged children (3+ years preferred).
- Experience with children with additional needs or specific learning difficulties.
- Strong understanding of child development and communication needs.
- A positive, proactive, and collaborative approach.
Bonus Skills (Not Essential):
- Confidence in delivering parent workshops or staff training.
