This school located in Birchwood, is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join our passionate team. The successful candidate will work closely with a child who has Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, requiring a supportive and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one support to the designated student with SEMH needs.
- Assist in implementing and adapting lesson plans to meet the individual requirements of the student.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor and track the progress of the student, providing feedback to the teaching staff.
- Employ effective behavior management strategies tailored to the student’s needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to ensure a holistic approach to the student’s education.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children with SEMH needs is highly desirable.
- Team-Teach training or equivalent would be advantageous.
- Physical fitness and an active lifestyle, as the student may display strong and energetic behavior.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the educational development of children with special needs.
